Millis Garden Club presents
Designing with Ornamental Grasses with Tess McDonough Ward

Millis, MA …On Tuesday, February 13th from 7pm – 8pm, the Millis Garden Club will sponsor a one-hour educational program on Designing with Ornamental Grasses. Our presenter, Tess McDonough Ward, is a well-respected horticulturist and the owner of Sequencia Gardens, based in Millis, MA. She will offer a slide presentation and discuss some of the do’s and don’ts when using ornamental grasses in the design of the landscape. She will also speak on how to use low maintenance ornamental grasses more effectively in your home landscape to create an abundant unified garden. Bring relevant design questions to share during the 15 minute Q/A. The program takes place at Veterans Memorial Building, Room 130, 900 Main Street, Millis, MA. Registration opens at 6:30 pm with Hospitality, so come early to enjoy a savory or sweet and meet MGC Members and other gardening enthusiasts from the area. MGC programs are open to the public with a suggested $5.00 donation at the door for non-members.

MGC sponsors educational programming on a monthly basis, from September – April. Our speakers are professionals in the industry and topics are diverse. All programs are open to the public with a $5.00 donation fee at the door. Mark your calendars now for Wednesday, March 14th, when we warmly welcome radio talk show personality and well-known educator Paul Rogers for a one-hour program on New England Invasives, to be held in the Norfolk Public Library’s Community Room, 139 Main Street, Norfolk, MA. This program is co-sponsored by the Millis Garden Club and the Norfolk Garden Club. There is a suggested donation of $5 for non-members. Registration and Hospitality begins at 6:30pm. All are welcome.

Mark your calendars now for Millis Beautification Day, scheduled for Saturday, April 14, 2007 from 7:30 am – 12 noon. Now in its third year, this community project focuses on cleaning up specific areas of town owned land, plus several pre-selected residential sites of elderly residents. We invite Millis community members and businesses to Take Pride in Millis and volunteer some time to this worthy community event. Third grade children and older may participate with parental supervision. Sponsorship is needed to provide a promotional banner, site signs and more. Professional landscapers are needed to volunteer with equipment and expertise. MBD is co-sponsored by the Millis Garden Club and the Millis Lions Club.
